Our amazekeel children’s author Jim Smith has been announced as a winner at the fantastic Lollies Awards 2017.
The Laugh out Loud Awards 2017 (the Lollies) were created to celebrate the funniest and most engaging books in children’s fiction.
Jim Smith was revealed as winner of the 6-8 category in the Lollies 2017 with his brilliant book Future Ratboy and the Invasion of the Nom Noms.
A shortlist of twelve funny books was initially announced after months of deliberation by an esteemed group of judges. The shortlist was decided by Michael Rosen, children’s novelist, poet and former Children’s Laureate, and his judging panel, consisting of CBBC presenter Katie Thistleton and The Sunday Times’ Children’s Books Editor, Nicolette Jones.
Featuring three separate awards determined by age group, the Lollies were grouped by picture books, 6-8 years and 9-13 years. Voting to choose the winner from the shortlist was open to the public, and winners were announced at a ceremony on 18 January 2018. Find out more on the Lollies website.
